When Preston County schools are closed due to inclement weather, Buckwheat Express Services are cancelled, too. Riders age 60 and older ride free on regularly scheduled routes. Present your picture identification showing your age.

Fares & Rider InformationTo use any of the Buckwheat Express services, there are only three things you need to know – where you are, where you are going and what time you need to be there. Questions about Buckwheat Express routes, schedules and fares can be directed to us at 304-329-0464 between the hours of 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM Monday through Friday. FARESThe Buckwheat Express fares are as follows: Kingwood - Morgantown – Terra Alta - Base fare of 75¢ and 25¢ for each additional zone thereafter. South Preston Loop - $1.25 Kingwood to Bruceton, Newburg, Rowlesburg, or Tunnelton – $1.00 Vehicle operators are not equipped to make change, so please have your exact fare ready when you board your Buckwheat Express vehicle. Buckwheat Express does not operate on the following holidays: New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, President’s Day, Good Friday, Memorial Day, West Virginia Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Thanksgiving Day and the Friday after, Veterans Day, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
